The moment you start talking about training like one of history’s natural military elites you know that you are in for some extreme training and the kind of physical pain only men who were raised from birth to be killing machines, can put up with.

Motivation is like BO, not even your best friend wants to talk to you about it, yet you know that when it comes to exercise and fitness training what separates the men from the boys (or even the women from the girls) is the fact that some can focus and some can’t. So how is it done? What’s the big secret?

Christmas is a funny time of the year for most people. Unless you happen to live in Australia, or be fortunate enough to have a residence in Southern California or even Miami, you are locked into cold nights, short days and the kind of weather which makes it hard to even get out of the house, let alone train outdoors.

The heavy bag is a gym in its own right. Used properly it can help you win in just about every way. If you are lucky enough and are in a gym which has heavy bags you can use or are even luckier and have one at home and the space to use it then you are in possession of the best possible means for building up speed, power, upper body strength, explosiveness and leanness.

Everybody knows how to run and in theory it all seems simple. You just walk but a little bit faster! How difficult can it be? But when it comes to running and I am talking about proper running not just jogging in the park and enjoying the view but about fast, high intensity running, in order to be able to run a long distance, run fast and actually gain from it you need to know the rules of running.

Power in physical performance is the secret ingredient few athletes openly talk about. It has nothing to do with strength (though strength is an ingredient of it) and it is only partially connected to speed (though speed is an element of it). At this point you are wondering what is it exactly and for this we need to look at physics and kinetics for an answer.
