How do you choose your food? You first of all stay away from people who try to poison you but really, how do you choose what’s good for you and what you should stay away from? There are simple rules you can follow to stay fit and healthy as well as well fed.The easiest way to make a meal is to buy a ready one and microwave it. And that is pretty much what my mum does. And then pretends that she made it from scratch when you could spot boxes and wrapping all over the place. But food full of chemicals, well, tastes like food full of chemicals. Never mind it has no value to your body in terms of vitamins and minerals. So you may have to go in some trouble actually putting together the ingredients and cooking something yourself. I know it sounds like a lot of trouble but that’s the only way to make sure you get everything your body needs to stay fit and healthy.
Choose protein over carbohydrates. Everybody who does sports at an advanced level knows that but it has to be mentioned. Choose fresh meat, eggs or dairy products with low fat contents. It will give you lots of protein for your muscles to grow and burn your body fat during cardio training. Try to reduce the amount of carbohydrates you consume during the day (and especially in the end of the day) as it is nothing more but empty calories.Make smoothies for breakfast. No one has time to sit down and exercise in chewing in the morning so a smoothie comes as a natural solution. Besides smoothies are normally full of carbs (sweet fruit) and liquefying them makes it easier for your body to process.
Go for fresh and go for home made. Some meals can be cooked in approximately 20 minutes from scratch. It’s actually faster then defrosting something. Fry an egg and cut some salad and you already have a healthy tasty meal which will give you energy for the whole day.We are what we eat. We can’t save on food because that would be saving on our health. And the body we have is the only body we will ever get (I am looking forward to scientists changing that fact) so we have to be careful when choosing what we eat.
